Significant progress has been made in the repair works being carried out to restore power to the Marina Pavilion hospitality venue on the St Leonards seafront, bringing the premises closer to being put back on the market.

The facility has been closed since the previous operator left and we were forced to put our efforts to find new occupiers on hold because of a major problem with the mains electricity supply, stemming from a nearby building.

Hastings Borough Council has been working with UK Power Networks over recent weeks to rectify the problem and a new power supply has now been installed to service the Marina Pavilion and neighbouring properties. The Council has also undertaken works to address historical problems with the shared drainage.

This means we can now arrange for new electricity meters to be fitted in the Marina Pavilion and commission essential testing of all the building’s electrical outlets and fittings.

We will also undertake external cleaning and graffiti removal.

Once these works have been completed, which should be by the spring, we will put the property back on the market to seek a company or companies to operate it.

Several parties have already come forward with proposals to take on the facility, and we’re going back to these to check if they are still interested.

We also welcome new interest. Approaches should be made to our agent, Alex Hobbis of Dyer & Hobbis, at ahobbis@dyerandhobbis.com or on 01424 423626.
